Information for Stall Holders

Please find below information for both regular and casual stall holders.

!! Stop Press !!

Complying with our insurance commitments is a major requirement for our market's survival. So we will be carefully checking stallholders' insurance cover is up to date on future market days.

If you don't have a copy of your current insurance with you on Market day, you will either need to buy casual stallholder cover for the day, or leave the market.

Our permit to run the community market is dependent on all stallholders having verifiable insurance cover on the day. So please bring a copy or be prepared to purchase cover for the day, on the day.

The Community tent has proved very popular for new stallholders; those with seasonal produce; or those with very limited space requirements.

It's been so popular, you now need to book if you want a spot here. Priority will be given to new starters, seasonal produce, and locally made products or craftwork.

Arrival & Departure

Vehicles will only be allowed to unload before market opens to the public (6am to 8am) and load only after the market closes (after 2pm). This is a Health and Safety regulation! If you wish to leave earlier your vehicle must be escorted by a committee member. After setting up your site, stallholder's vehicles should be moved away from the market area.

Notifying absences or attendances

  • We currently don't expect stallholders to confirm their attendance, so cancellations are not required. However, due to the limited availability of powered sites, we require stallholders needing mains power to book in advance. Likewise, only powered-site stallholders need to advise cancellation if they are not attending for any reason.
  • Stallholders requiring powered sites should contact market manager no later than Wednesday prior to the market if they plan on not attending.

Postponement & Cancellation Policy due to Bad Weather

  • Unless threatened by extreme inclement weather the Market will be on.
  • The market will be held on the 1st Saturday of every second month.

(i.e. the even months:-  Feb, April, June, August, Oct, Dec.)

  • Stallholders need to provide their own weather protection, eg sun and rain protection.
  • Final decision in regards to postponement or cancellation (due to inclement weather patterns) will be made on the morning of the market.
  • Market Manager will check ground conditions, consult with committee & staff, as well as gauge response from stallholders, prior to decision making.
  • If market postponed/cancelled manager will contact all major radio stations and place announcement to that effect, as well as alter message on phone answering system.
  • Decision will be made no later than 7am on the morning of the market
  • If the market goes ahead on an inclement day, all stall fees and payments are due.
